Miles Hunt & Erica Nockalls - The Wonderstuff Plus Support Act |
|||
Over the past 20 years The Wonder Stuff have notched up 5 top 20 albums and played to hundreds of thousands of people throughout the UK. Best known for their number 1 single with Vic Reeves, Dizzy, the band have performed hundreds of TV shows with their 17 top 20 singles and made 2,000,000 sales worldwide. In 2011, The Wonder Stuff toured with The Levellers as part of their Levelling The Land anniversary tour which will culminate at London's Brixton Academy exactly 25 years to the day that the group originally formed. In between acoustic shows by Miles and Erica, the group also performed at a number of festivals and shows in the UK as well as performing a handful of dates in America supporting Jesus Jones.. At the end of the year, the group were due to perform two shows in Birmingham and London to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of their Never Loved Elvis album. Shortly before the shows were due to take place, guitarist Malcolm Treece left the group. His place for the shows was taken over by Jesus Jones' guitarist Jerry de Borg. Since the release of his critically acclaimed debut album ‘When we were Brave’ in 2010, Paddy and his Happy Enchiladas have played the clubs and pubs of Ireland North and South as well as an extensive tour of England playing the legendary Hope & Anchor and Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival among others. His unique blend of Folk-Pop-Punk-Country-Blues has left audiences revelling in the rich lyrics and big melodies. Paddy has also enjoyed huge solo success playing the LeftField stage at Glastonbury in 2011 and supporting Billy Bragg on his Irish Tour last October. In 2011 Counterpunch Magazine hailed Paddy’s Anti-Banker anthem ‘The Moneyman’s Dead’ as Song of the Week. The new album ‘Times of Transition’ will be released in June 2012 and an extensive summer tour of Ireland is in the pipeline for Paddy and his Enchiladas who intend to maintain their Cult status as the band who'll get you thinking and make you dance on the table all at the same time. You’ll also have the opportunity to catch Paddy playing some intimate solo gigs in England, Scotland and Wales in July. Here are just some of the accolades being bestowed upon Paddy and his music; “Nash brooks no bullshit in his lyrics - they're mostly tough, yet all the more touching when they are tender” (David Burke – R2 Magazine) “It was a wet, dirty night; the assembled crowd was very small. But it was one of the best BAG gigs since my tenure began. Sometimes, a new act arrives and folks take them to their hearts immediately; that happened this night. The word will spread, and next time more will come: that's what its all about- putting good music and good audiences together in the one place at the one time, and seeing the magic happen. That's why I do this, and exactly why I'll continue.” (Roy Thompson – Ballymore Acoustic Gigs)
